Politics and comunication.: Juan Domingo Perón and the discursive construction of popular and national imagery. 1943-1946

Abstract

This article presents part of an investigation developed in 2006, which is focused on Perón´s dialectics during his pre- presidential stage, between 4th June 1943 and February 24th, 1946.
The stress is placed on the construction, upon his dialectics, of a complex net of senses which altogether make a social imagery.
An approach to the social generation of that sense is proposed. The main goal of this research is to identify discursive strategies in Perón´s speeches that help to build the imagery, emphasizing contents related to national and popular matters.
Perón´s dialectics ment a change in social representations of each one of the strata that composed argentinian society; and produced a break in the conception of symbolism.
