Representations of communism in Hollywood's war films

Abstract

The following article shows the development and conclusions of a research carried out with the aim to analyze the way Hollywood represents communism, historical ideological adversary of the USA.

The main objective of this research is to know how communist characters, their main institutions, values and social procedures are represented in the analyzed movies, by means of content analysis technique.
This work focuses on war films, particularly on those movies in which Soviet communism is represented.
