The mobbing from women perspective
Abstract
Violence, when facilitated by power, becomes a possible problem solving method, giving control of the relation to the aggressor through the use of strength (physical, psychological, economic or political). Thus, we can talk about “domestic violence”, “political violence”, “gender violence”, “workplace violence”, “sexual violence”, etc. This article deals with one of the forms of violence that takes place in the workplace: mobbing. This phenomenon, also known as psychological harassment, is growing in importance and worrying an increasing number of employers and employees every day. For this reason, readers are invited to reflect on the various cases of mobbing that occur daily in the workplace along with its negative influence on the employees, their families, the organization they belong, and their society. The purpose of this piece is to consider the different aspects of psychological harassment on working women in different working environments through the analysis of judicial cases. Furthermore, it intends to determine the causes and consequences of mobbing and inform the readers about the tools utilized by the harasser on the one hand and the victims’ and the organization’s reactions on the other.
