Digital competences of postgraduate professors

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic intensified the interest of Universities in deepening knowledge regarding the level of digital skills that teachers possess. This article focuses this theme in a research on the postgraduate teachers of an institution with face-to-face and distance proposals. The general objective of the research was to determine the level of digital skills of 113 teachers in postgraduate courses at the Universidad Siglo 21 (US21), during the years 2018-2020. A documentary, descriptive-interpretative analysis of the information obtained in such research focused on the analysis of digital teaching skills, their new role, the description of profiles and the use and impact of ICT is synthesized. The results are presented in relation to the teaching experience in the use of technological resources, their training in terms of knowledge and use of the same and their a itude and perception of technological mediation in the learning process. Based on the information obtained from the research, three profiles associated with the digital skills of postgraduate teachers are distinguished: the innovators, the reticent and the refractory. For each group, its specific characteristics and composition for the case studied are indicated.
