Kay Program: self-knowledge and personal development to create ecosystems of care and well-being in Schools

Abstract

Context. Education needs changes. The results of educational quality are sad. The traditional model is becoming obsolete. It is urgent to create alternatives that are close to the current needs of teachers and students. Change will not happen overnight. This essay tries to bring a tool that allows this change to go through in good conditions, seeking to recycle the obsolete and combine the best of both, in order to create ecosystems of wellbeing and care. Answer the following question: Can self-knowledge and personal development be an effective tool to accompany this transit? Method: Study of different theories through an exploratory method. Results and conclusions: A deep transformation of those who have in their hands the responsibility of teaching is necessary; this entails discovering human nature, reviewing one's own learning experiences to recognize the conditions in which the "inner student" has been left, in order to later recover creativity, spontaneity and joy in the act of teaching.
